چکیده
Competence-based, science e-testing (CBSeT) is a novel external assessment tool which provides feedback to teachers about their students’ competence-based skills, thereby giving relevant information could potentially use in teaching practice. The aim of this study was determine the extent teachers’ existing beliefs towards CBSeT enabled them received Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eleven from selected schools took part an pilot programme. findings revealed that most believed provided adequate level actual competences and gave general guidelines support further learning. At same time, they perceived currently lacking accountability function, would make students more responsible for learning provide on effectiveness own teaching. Despite generally positive attitudinal CBSeT, several constraints operationalising classroom identified. Based these findings, paper suggests ways facilitate implementation classroom.

Curriculum materials are a crucial tool with which teachers engage in teaching practice. For preservice teachers to learn to use science curriculum materials in productive ways, they must develop a conception of themselves as elementary teachers in which the use of science curriculum materials is a valued dimension of science-teaching practice. We define those dimensions of teachers’ profession...

The ubiquitous goals of helping precollege students develop informed conceptions of nature of science (NOS) and experience inquiry learning environments that progressively approximate authentic scientific practice have been long-standing and central aims of science education reforms around the globe. However, the realization of these goals continues to elude the science education community part...

This paper describes the design of a cloud computing platform e-Science Central (eSC) which provides both Software and Platform as a Service for scientific data management, analysis and collaboration. e-SC can be deployed on both private (e.g. Eucalyptus) and public Clouds (Amazon AWS and Microsoft Windows Azure). The SaaS application allows scientists to upload data, edit and run workflows, an...
متن کاملComputer Science: Not about Computers, Not Science
This paper makes two claims about the fundamental nature of computer science. In particular, I claim that—despite its name—the field of computer science is neither the study of computers, nor is it science in the ordinary sense of the word. While there are technical exceptions to both claims, the nature, purpose, and ultimately the crucial contributions of the beautiful discipline of computer s...
